PARIS — Rolling off comedies “Nothing to Declare” and “Welcome to the Sticks,” French thesp-turned-helmer Dany Boon is developing “Super condriaque.”
The buddy comedy will center on the unlikely friendship between a hypochondriac man looking for love (Boon) and his physician.
Jerome Seydoux’s Pathe has come on board to produce, distribute and rep “Super condriaque” in international markets.
Pic is part of the three-picture deal Boon inked with Pathe in January 2011. Boon’s Les Productions du Ch’timi is co-producing the film.
Pathe stroke B.O. gold with “Sticks,” Gaul’s highest-grossing French-language pic ever at $245.1 million worldwide, and “Nothing,” which took $90 million globally.
“Super condriaque” will begin lensing next spring for a 2014 release.
Boon has just wrapped helmer Alexandre Coffre’s “Eyjafjallajokull,” a romantic comedy produced by “The Intouchables” producer Quad, set against the backdrop of the 2010 volcano eruption in Iceland.
