Five-year vet to head corporate development at the studio
Sony Pictures Entertainment has upped Lauren Glotzer to exec VP of corporate development. She’ll report to David Hendler, senior exec VP and chief financial officer at SPE.
In her new role, Glotzer will head the corporate development team at the studio, overseeing investments and analyses, mergers and acquisitions, new business development and strategic planning.
In her five years with SPE, Glotzer has been actively involved in many of the studio’s major strategic ventures, including SPE’s increased stake in GSN, the home entertainment joint venture with Universal in Australia and the launch of the Hot Ticket, a theatrical distribution label dedicated to alternative content.
“Lauren’s strategic guidance has been invaluable in keeping the studio nimble and innovative, streamlining our operations, expanding our consumer offerings and investing in key businesses. Her promotion is well deserved,” Hendler said.
Prior to joining SPE in 2007, Glotzer served as associate director of group corporate development for Virgin Media in London, where she helped drive the cable company’s purchase of Virgin Mobile U.K. and licensing of the Virgin brand name.
