Sony Digital’s Don Levy exits

PR exec spent 17 years at studio

Sony Pictures Digital’s senior VP, communications is ankling the studio after 17 years.

Levy, who leaves Sony June 4, is developing a new family entertainment venture. He will also be a visiting scholar at the U. of Southern California and teach entertainment marketing at Boston U.’s Los Angeles program.

Levy joined Sony in 1995 as an awards campaign consultant and has been the main spokesman for Sony Pictures Imageworks for most of its history.

Steven Argula is the new director of public relations for Sony Pictures Imageworks. He reports to Becky Chaires, senior VP of marketing for Sony Pictures Digital Productions. Argula was most recently at Pixar, where he worked in publicity for more than a decade.

Olivier Mouroux, who handles PR for Sony Pictures Animation, has been upped to VP, public relations and coroporate communications. He also reports to Chaires.
