Sola toons up ‘Jelly’ deals

Shingle also marks sales for 'Macaco'

German sales agent Sola Media has scored a raft of pre-sales on 3D toon feature “Jelly T,” Danish helmer Michael Hegner’s followup to “Niko and the Way to Stars.”

Leda Films picked up the family comedy for Latin America, CP Media for CIS and Media Intl. Pictures for the Middle East.

Pre-sold to more than 20 territories, “Jelly T’s” further sales deals include Benelux with Jekino, Indonesia (MT Entertainment), former Yugoslavia (Kidsfilmfest) and Estonia (Estinfilm).

Produced by Nina Crone and Erik Wilstrup at Copenhagen’s outfit Crone Film, “Jelly T” is the second part of a film trilogy based on children’s books by bestselling Danish author Ole Lund Kirkegaard.

Pic bowed May 16 in Denmark on around 100 prints, distributed by SF Film. An English version will be ready for delivery in June.

Stuttgart-based Sola Media has also notched up further pre-sales to another Danish 3D toon pic, “Marco Macaco” (aka “Carlo’s Casino”), produced by Thomas Borch Nielsen (“Sunshine Barry and the Disco Worms”).

Sola has inked the CIS with Luxor, South Korea (Smile Entertainment) and Portugal (Lusomundo).

“Macaco” marks Danish helmer Jan Rahbek’s CGI animated debut, and is produced by Borch Nielsen’s Valby-based studio Nice Ninja Prods.

Already sold to more than 20 countries, “Macaco’s” Danish theatrical release is planned for September.
