'Place' preems at the TriBeCa Grand Hotel in Gotham
Delicious acts of revenge were being plotted during Thursday’s “This Must Be the Place” preem at the TriBeCa Grand Hotel in Gotham.
The Weinstein Co.’s dark comedy allowed Eve Hewson — daughter of rock god Bono — a chance to elaborate on the wickedest payback she’s ever heard of. “You can’t top hunting someone down, pulling a gun, forcing them to strip and then walk naked outside in a freezing snowstorm,” said Hewson, referring to star Sean Penn’s on-screen antics.
Co-star Judd Hirsch, who enjoyed a glass of red wine with guest Gary Busey, prefers the non-violent approach to settling the score.
“There were a lot of guys who stole my girlfriends back in high school and college,” said the thesp. “Instead of beating them up, I took acting classes. Looks like I won my revenge, fellas.”
Sadly, Penn was under the weather and couldn’t attend and share his ultimate revenge story. He also missed out on his chance to raid the snack bar filled with popcorn, Snickers, Skittles and tall glasses of champagne.
Guests Gerard Butler, Patrick Stewart and Lou Reed made sure nothing went to waste.
“Sweet stuff here,” said Butler.
Only the revenge was sweeter.
