‘Scary Movie 5’ spooks Ashley Tisdale

'High School Musical' thesp joins Dimension Films project

Dimension Films has tapped “High School Musical’s” Ashley Tisdale for its fifth installment in the “Scary Movie” franchise.

Malcolm Lee will helm the project, which will begin production this summer.

“Scary Movie” franchise has cumed more than $700 million worldwide since Miramax unspooled the first film in 2000. Since coming under new ownership in 2010, Miramax has continued to work with The Weinstein Company on select sequels, including the next “Scary Movie” pic.

Andrew Kramer, Adrian Lopez and Matthew Signer negotiated the deal for Dimension. Perlman Management, CAA and Stone, Meyer, Genow, Smelkinson & Binder, LLP rep Tisdale.
