SAG Awards accepting submissions online

Nominees unveiled Dec. 12, awards show set for Jan. 27

The Screen Actors Guild Awards has opened nominations, with the first-time requirement that the org will only accept online submissions starting today.

Submissions for the 19th edition of the SAG Awards will close on Oct. 25 and nominations will be announced Dec. 12. Awards will be presented Jan. 27 at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center.

“Implementing an online submissions only policy this year reflects SAG Awards continuing commitment to environmentally sound practices,” said awards chair JoBeth Williams.

The SAG Awards was honored in 2009, 2010 and 2011 with the Environmental Media Association Green Seal. Online submissions for nominations have been available since the 9th SAG Awards.

Despite the March merger between SAG and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists into SAG-AFTRA, the SAG Awards has not changed its name.
