Russia closes first Doors film mart

Event attracted a host of U.S. industryites

Russia’s state-backed film promo org Roskino wrapped its first Intl. Travelling Film Market Doors on Sunday.

Part of the 34th Moscow Film Festival, the four-day event was co-organized by the Russian Film Commission USA (which recently opened an L.A. office) with the participation of the Digital October Center, Moscow’s leading IT and multimedia center.

Doors, which stands for Digital October Official Roskino Screenings, features pics for foreign distribs, sales agents, VOD distributors and others. Twenty films, including work by helmers Boris Khlebnikov and Renata Litvinova, were showcased.

Participants included Fox Searchlight, Sony Pictures Classics, the Weinstein Company and NBCUniversal, among a host of U.S. firms.

Program featured a summit hosted by Sydney Levine on Saturday. Topics included multi-platform distribution and Russian-American co-productions.

At a ceremony on Sunday, Creative Flight was feted with the Intl. Vision Award for its contributions to indie distribution.
