ROME — U.S. helmer Walter Hill will be feted by the Rome Film Festival with its Maverick Director Award.
Hill, as previously announced, will be attending the Eternal City event with the world preem of his latest film, action thriller “Bullet to the Head,” starring Sylvester Stallone, who will be in attendance. The nod will be presented to Hill by Hollywood-based Italo scribe Alessandro Camon, who penned “Bullet,” which Warner Bros. will release Stateside in February 2013.
Rome topper Marco Mueller praised Hill, whose many titles include “The Warriors,” “48 Hrs.” and “Streets of Fire,” for “consistently thinking outside the box” while moving effortlessly from classic cinema to its modern variations, trying his hand at all genres.
The rebooted Rome fest will run Nov. 9-17.
