Rodriguez thinking ‘About Last Night’

'Magic Mike' thesp joins remake cast with shoot under way

Coming off the biggest feature hit of his career, “Magic Mike” thesp Adam Rodriguez has joined the cast of Screen Gems’ untitled remake of “About Last Night,” which director Steve Pink is just starting to shoot in Los Angeles.

Michael Ealy and Joy Bryant star in the romantic dramedy alongside Kevin Hart and Regina Hall. Ealy and Bryant will play a Los Angeles couple who move in together and then break up while fighting feelings of reconciliation.

Rodriguez will share scenes with Bryant, playing her former lover and colleague.

Leslye Headland (“Bachelorette”) wrote the script, though the remake will be closer in spirit to David Mamet’s play “Sexual Perversity in Chicago,” which served as the basis for Ed Zwick’s 1986 pic “About Last Night.”

Rainforest Films principal Will Packer (“Think Like a Man”) is producing along with Will Gluck, the director of Screen Gems’ hit comedy “Easy A.”

Rodriguez, who’s best known for his starring role on “CSI: Miami,” recently danced alongside Channing Tatum in Steven Soderbergh’s hit stripper pic “Magic Mike.” Thesp previously starred in Tyler Perry’s “I Can Do Bad All by Myself” and just wrapped Luke Matheny’s indie comedy “Lovesick,” which stars Matt LeBlanc.

Rodriguez is repped by Global Artists Agency and A Management Company.
