Richard Gere honored at Palm Springs Film Fest

'Arbitrage' star receives Chairman's Award

Richard Gere will receive the Palm Springs Film Festival’s Chairman’s Award on Jan. 5. Thesp is being honored for his role in this year’s “Arbitrage.”

“Throughout his career Richard Gere has established himself as an accomplished actor and producer and yet still finds time to support crucial cultural and humanitarian causes,” said festival chairman Harold Matzner.

He will receive the honor at the fest’s Jan. 5 gala at the Palm Springs Convention Center, along with the cast of “Argo,” Bradley Cooper, Sally Field, Helen Hunt, Helen Mirren, Naomi Watts and Robert Zemeckis. The festival runs Jan. 3-14.
