Renner, Kitsch, Apatow set for honors

CinemaCon awards will go to actors, director on April 26

Jeremy Renner, Taylor Kitsch and Judd Apatow are the latest industryites set to be honored at this year’s CinemaCon, to be held April 23-26 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Renner will receive the confab’s Male Star of the Year Award, while Kitsch has been tapped for the Male Star of Tomorrow nod. Apatow, meanwhile, will be feted for excellence in filmmaking.

Renner and Kitsch have busy years: The former appears in two major summer tentpoles, “The Avengers” and “The Bourne Legacy,” while Kitsch recently toplined “John Carter” and will next star in “Battleship” and Oliver Stone’s “Savages.”

Apatow’s latest directorial effort, “This Is 40,” bows Dec. 21; he also produced “The Five-Year Engagement,” which bows this month.

Kudos will be handed out April 26 during the confab’s annual kudofest.
