RelativityReal promotes Marcus to COO

Exec was formerly prexy of corporate development and strategy

RelativityReal has promoted Andrew Marcus to the newly created role of chief operating officer, effective in January.

Marcus previously served as president of corporate development and strategy for RelativityReal, the television arm of Relativity Media which has produced shows including MTV’s “Catfish” and Bravo’s “LOLWork.”

Marcus will report directly to chief executive officer Tom Forman.

“Having helped structure Relativity Media’s network of co-finance and distribution partners, Andrew’s the right guy to help us forge new models in television,” Forman said in a release announcing the promotion on Tuesday.

In his former role, Marcus helped oversee Relativity Media’s foreign partnerships with companies such as Canada’s Alliance Films, the U.K.’s Momentum Pictures and Germany/Austria distrib Senator Entertainment (in which Relativity has a stake).
