BERLIN — Senator Entertainment looks set to take over international sales for Relativity Media.
The companies are in negotiations for Relativity to merge its foreign sales operations into Senator, with Senator handling international sales of films produced and distributed by Relativity.
The deal would mean a global expansion for Senator’s distribution business and, according to the company, a potentially “significant growth for the German independent in revenues and profit.”
If concluded, the agreement is expected to go into effect in January.
Relativity already has output deals in place for numerous territories, including a current pact with Senator in Germany.
By taking over world sales for Relativity, the Berlin-based Senator said it was aiming to strengthen its ties with the leading Hollywood production and distribution shingle.
