Things got a little spooky during a rainy Monday night screening of Millennium Entertainment’s “Red Lights” at the Landmark Sunshine in New York.
“Don’t expect anything,” helmer Rodrigo Cortes advised the audience in his intro. “And I mean it in literal terms.” Pic stars Cillian Murphy and Sigourney Weaver as scientists determined to debunk reports of paranormal happenings. The afterparty at Apotheke featured Spanish-inspired hors d’oeuvres. “I am in the skeptical camp, I suppose,” said Murphy at the afterparty. “I’m open. I’m curious, but I’ve never really seen anything that I can’t explain rationally.” And what would a Cillian Murphy movie be without a little action? “I end up covered in blood in most movies,” Murphy said. “There’s something with directors — they want to destroy you,” teased Cortes.
