Org announces nominations for top campaigns
Hollywood publicists have nominated six studio films and six TV series for their top publicity-campaign awards.
Winners will be announced at the Publicists’ 49th annual awards luncheon at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Feb. 24. The announcement was made Wednesday by Intl. Cinematographers Guild president Steven Poster and awards committee chairman Henri Bollinger.
Nominees for the Maxwell Weinberg Publicists Showmanship Award are the union publicists who worked on Universal’s “Bridesmaids,” Warner Bros.’ “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” DreamWorks/Disney’s “The Help,” Fox’s “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” Sony’s “The Smurfs” and Paramount’s “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.”
Nominees for TV are Lionsgate TV’s “Boss,” CBS TV Studios’ “The Good Wife” and “Ringer,” 20th Century Fox TV’s “Modern Family” and Warner Bros. TV’s “Shameless” and “Two and a Half Men.”
“It’s important that we recognize the contribution that publicists make towards the success of movies and television shows at a time the industry honors the work of most other industry professionals,” Bollinger said.
