Poland’s New Horizons nabs Cannes pics

It takes local rights to Carax, Regadas, Mungio movies

Polish rights to three Cannes pics have been picked up by New Horizons Assn., the organizer of the New Horizons Film Festival plus the American Film Festival in Wroclaw, Poland.

“Holy Motors” by Leos Carax, “Post tenebras lux” by Carlos Reygadas and “Beyond the Hills” by Cristian Mungiu will have their Polish bows at the 12th New Horizons fest, which runs July 19-29, before distribution at theaters throughout Poland.

New Horizons has also scooped up Polish rights for Berlinale Audience Award-winner “Marina Abramovic: The Artist Is Present.” The Matthew Akers-helmed doc will feature as a special event in the fest.
