Rebecca Thomas' drama preemed at Berlin Film Fest
Phase 4 Films has acquired North American rights to writer-director Rebecca Thomas’ drama “Electrick Children.”
The film, produced by Jessica Caldwell and Richard Neustatder, stars Julia Garner, Rory Culkin, Liam Aiken and Billy Zane.
“Electrick Children” made its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival in February and North American premiere at SXSW in Mrch Film Festival.
Phase 4 will release the film day-and-date in theatres and on VOD later this year.
Story center on a young Mormon girl from a fundamentalist Utah community, discovers a forbidden cassette tape with rock music on it on her 15th birthday. Three months later, claims to have had an immaculate conception from listening to the music and runs away to Las Vegas to search for the man who sings on the tape.
Deal was negotiated by Phase 4’s Larry Greenberg and Katharyn Howe with Ben Weiss at Paradigm on behalf of the filmmakers.
