Phase 4 Films has acquired U.S. and Canadian rights to David H. Steinberg’s romantic comedy “Miss Dial.”
The film marks the feature directorial debut of “Puss in Boots” writer Steinberg and stars Robinne Lee and Sam Jaeger (“Parenthood”) on ABC. Sara Rue, Jon Huertas, Amanda Crew, Hill Harper, Dule Hill, and Gabrielle Union round out the cast.
Lee also served as a producer along with Keetgi Kogan, M. Elizabeth Hughes and Eric Hayes.
“Miss Dial” centers on a consumer affairs rep who deals with irate customers calling about everything from the availability of the “limited edition” cheddar cheese to whether it’s safe for dogs to drink the blue toilet water. She decides to play hooky from work by calling random strangers in order to reconnect with the world outside her apartment.
Phase 4 is planning a release on multiple platforms.
Deal was negotiated by Phase 4’s Larry Greenberg with Glen Reynolds at Circus Road on behalf of the filmmakers.
Steinberg is repped by APA and Silent R.
