'Bent' thesp joins Bateman, McCarthy comedy at U

Amanda Peet is set to join the cast of Universal’s comedy “Identity Thief” starring Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy.

Seth Gordon will direct from a screenplay originally drafted by Steve Conrad and rewritten by Craig Mazin. Story revolves around a man whose identity is stolen by a woman.

Scott Stuber to produce through his Bluegrass Films banner, alongside Bateman and Pam Abdy. Peter Morgan will exec produce.

Scott Bernstein, exec VP of production, will oversee the project for U.

Peet, repped by Gersh and Management 360, is currently starring in NBC’s “Bent.”
