Participant taps Neimand as production VP

Strike Entertainment exec to bolster exec ranks

Participant Media has hired Strike Entertainment’s Gabrielle Neimand as VP of production, bolstering its ranks as part of the banner’s plan to bring four to six narrative films to the screen per year.

While at Strike, Neimand was an exec producer on Universal-distributed “The Thing” and a co-producer on Lionsgate-distribbed “The Last Exorcism”; she also helped oversee “Flash of Genius,” “Let’s Go to Prison” and “Slither.”

She will begin at Participant in the middle of this month, reporting to production exec VP Jonathan King.

“We met on a project that we tried to develop together a couple of years ago but ended up not going forward,” King told Variety. “I was always impressed with how smart, entrepreneurial, aggressive and creative she is.”

Neimand should help take up some of the slack at Participant following the departure of marketing prexy Ricky Strauss in January, who moved to the same job at Disney.
