Paramount buys Campbell/Stuecken spec

J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot to produce contained thriller

In a pre-emptive deal, Paramount has acquired an untitled, low-budget spec script from rising scribes Josh Campbell and Matt Stuecken that will be produced by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot banner.

Paramount had no comment on the deal.

Script is described as a contained thriller with sci-fi elements, though story details remain under wraps.

Campbell is currently writing an English-language remake of John Woo’s classic pic “The Killer,” which will be financed by Bruno Wu’s Seven Stars Film Studios.

UTA reps Campbell and Stuecken, a new writing team who are respectively managed by Adam Kolbrenner of Madhouse Entertainment and Brooklyn Weaver of Energy Entertainment.
