Less than a year since his appointment, Nu Image prexy of international sales and distribution Roy Matalon is poised to exit the company.

Matalon joined Avi Lerner’s sales and distribution company in August, just in time for the Toronto Film Fest.

That post has Fremes overseeing international sales, distribution and marketing. While Matalon’s exit had not been announced at the time of Fremes’ appointment, insiders say that his departure was expected.

Prior to joining Nu Image, Matalon spent 14 years at New Regency Prods., most recently as senior VP of distribution of domestic and international theatrical, home entertainment and TV. Before that, he served as managing director of theatrical distribution for Columbia TriStar and 20th Century Fox in territories including Belgium and the Netherlands.
