'Wizards of Waverly Place' thesp joins horror-thriller

Wizards of Waverly Place” star Jennifer Stone has joined the cast of Slasher Films’ horror-thriller “Nothing to Fear.”

Veteran storyboard artist Anthony Leonardi III will make his directorial debut with the indie pic, which former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash is producing with his Slasher Films partners Rob Eric and Michael Williams.

Film stars James Tupper, Anne Heche, Clancy Brown, Ethan Peck and Rebekah Brandes (“Bellflower”).

Story follows a family whose journey towards a better life in a small town is savagely derailed by a charismatic but emotionally conflicted man of the cloth (Brown).

Stone will be seen in a new light from her past roles, as she’ll play Tupper and Heche’s edgy and impulsive middle child.

Anchor Bay Films will distribute stateside, and Content Film is handling foreign rights for the pic, which Shaun Redick and Ray Mansfield are exec producing via their Movie Package Co.

Stone, who previously appeared in ABC Family’s telepic “Mean Girls 2,” is repped by the Schiff Company and Ziffren Brittenham.
