Distrib to release pic across Scandinavia
LONDON — NonStop Entertainment has acquired Scandinavian rights to Wes Anderson’s “Moonrise Kingdom,” which is set to open the Cannes Film Festival in May.NonStop is one of the key distribs in Scandinavia for U.S. indie features. “Moonrise Kingdom” stars Bruce Willis, Tilda Swinton, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Ed Norton and Jason Schwartzman. Set on an island off the coast of New England in 1965, it’s a typically quirky tale of a community searching for a couple of 12-year-olds who have fallen in love and run away together into the wilderness. NonStop negotiated the deal with Focus Features Intl. It will release the pic in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland, and will partner on the Norwegian release with Selmer Media. Focus opens the movie May 25 in the U.S. following its Cannes world premiere May 16.
