NBCU taps Michael Moore for operations prexy

Raleigh Studios vet takes over for retiring Dave Beanes

NBCUniversal has tapped Michael Moore as its prexy and general manager of Universal Studios Operations.

Moore, currently president of Raleigh Entertainment/Raleigh Film and Television Studios, will take over his new position starting Sept. 17, 2012 and report jointly to Universal Studios president and COO Ron Meyer and John Wallace, president of operations & technical services of NBCUniversal.

Moore will oversee all the operations of Universal City Studios, including production services, sound services, facilities and marketing. He’s taking over for Dave Beanes, who is retiring at the end of the year after 42 years in the industry and 17 years with the company.

“Michael has the rare combination of skills to effectively lead our Studio Operations group and ensure the long-term success of this world-class studio lot. Dave has been a great partner and we thank him for his years of hard work, dedication and loyalty to the company,” Meyer said.
