'Squatters' is first project from Wakefield Intl. Pictures
Julius R. Nasso (“Narc”) and Todd Moyer have launched film financing and production banner Wakefield Intl. Pictures with “Squatters” as its first project.“Squatters” stars Thomas Dekker and Gabriella Wilde, and production starts in Los Angeles in early May. Martin Weisz is directing, with Nasso, Moyer and Cordula Weisz producing; Frankie Nasso and Jeff Kranzdorf exec produce. Script by Justin Shilton tells the story of a young homeless couple in Venice Beach who move into a mansion in Pacific Palisades. When the owners come home early from vacation, things get complicated. Wakefield plans to package, finance and produce as many as four to six films per year. Nasso and Moyer have known each other for close to two decades, since Moyer was president of production for Seagal-Nasso Films as Steven Seagal’s production banner. Nasso and Seagal were involved in a variety of legal disputes that ended with a 2008 settlement. Weisz directed “The Hills Have Eyes II.” He’s repped by Anonymous Content.
