Monterey Media has acquired U.S. and Canadian rights to the thriller “Trade of Innocents” from Bicycle Peddler LLC, via Original Artists.
“Innocents,” starring Dermot Mulroney and Mira Sorvino, has been set for a September theatrical release.
Mulroney portrays a human trafficking investigator while Sorvino plays his wife, a volunteer in an aftercare shelter for rescued girls.
Bill Bolthouse is the producer of “Innocents,” which was the centerpiece of the Yale Symposium recently as a kick-off to the promotional campaign. The event was attended by Ambassador Luis CdeBaca and Deputy Attorney General James Cole.
Sorvino has also represented the human trafficking cause in her work as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador.
