Mental health org salutes 'Temple Grandin' scribe

Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services is one of the nation’s oldest non-profit orgs devoted to helping low-income patients deal with mental health issues.

The org has been operating in Hollywood’s back yard since the 1940s. On Friday, its annual Erasing the Stigma kudos luncheon at the Beverly Hilton will feature a salute to filmdom’s efforts to raise awareness of mental health issues, with a “70 Years of Progress” montage of clips crafted by Cimarron Group.

“Temple Grandin” writer Christopher Monger will receive the org’s leadership award, to be presented by cinematographer Haskell Wexler. George Segal emcees.
