With three movies in the can and another in pre-production, “Rabbit Hole” star Miles Teller is one of the busiest young actors in Hollywood and there’s no break in sight this year, as he’s set to join Zac Efron in the indie “Are We Officially Dating?”
Tom Gormican is writing and directing the romantic comedy, which Treehouse Pictures’ Justin Nappi and Kevin Turen are producing with Scott Aversano and Andrew O’Connor. Michael Simkin, Jason Barrett and Manu Gargi will exec produce.
QED Intl. is handling international sales for the pic, which is skedded to start production this November in New York City.
Gormican’s script, which appeared on the 2010 Black List, follows three friends in Manhattan who make a pact to remain single just as they each start to fall in love.
Teller will play Efron’s friend and co-worker who like the protag, is determined to remain single and sexually active without having to make a commitment.
Teller will next be seen in Jon Lucas and Scott Moore’s Relativity comedy “21 and Over” and Dylan Kidd’s CBS Films laffer “Get a Job.” He recently wrapped James Ponsoldt’s indie “The Spectacular Now” with Shailene Woodley and will begin filming Max Nichols’ romantic comedy “Two Night Stand” with Analeigh Tipton next month. Teller also appeared in “Project X” and starred in Paramount’s remake of “Footloose,” which coincidentally, was originally supposed to star Efron.
