Michael Bay draws SET Legacy Award

Director honored for positive portrayals of scientists

Michael Bay was feted at the second SET Awards with the SET Legacy Award, which was presented to him by his former “Transformer” star Shia LaBeouf.

The ceremony was held Thursday night at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The Entertainment Industries Council¹s 2nd Annual S.E.T. Awards recognize productions for accurate, inspirational and encouraging depictions of and bringing attention to the fields of science, engineering, and technology.

Bay was presented with the award for creating films that positively portray people in those fields.

Bay is currently in post on the Paramount comedy “Pain and Gain.” LaBeouf was most recently seen in “Lawless.”
