“Chuck” thesp Ryan McPartlin will star in a pair of indie projects — “Mr. Christmas” and “Sex and Sunsets.”
McPartlin, who starred as the Captain Awesome character on “Chuck,” will topline “Mr. Christmas” as a star a male mannequin come to life — whose plastic core makes it difficult to woo his human crush. “Mr. Christmas,” directed by Jim Fall and produced by Kim Ray, will begin shooting in Los Angeles later this month.
Upon completion of “Mr. Christmas,” McPartlin will segue into Serendipity Point Films’ “Sex and Sunsets” opposite “True Blood” star Ryan Kwanten with Jeremiah Chechik directing from Megan Martin’s screenplay.
Robert Lantos is producing the pic, based on the novel by Tim Sandlin. McPartlin will portray a consummate charmer with a winning smile whose patience runs thin when a romantically tenacious and struggling writer (Kwanten) makes overtures toward his fiance.
McPartlin’s credits include “J Edgar” and the “Touch” webseries spin-off “Daybreak.” He’s repped by ICM Partners and Evolution Entertainment.
