Marvel Studios prexy Kevin Feige will receive the Motion Picture Showman of the Year award at the ICG Publicists Guild Awards on Feb. 22.
Feige most recently produced “The Avengers,” which set a three-day domestic box office record of $207.4 million in May.
“Kevin Feige’s understanding and appreciation of publicity and promotion in the role of a movie’s success has led to a string of blockbuster feature films adapted from the pages of Marvel comic books during the past 10 years,” said Publicists Guild Awards committee chairman Henri Bollinger.
Since joining Marvel in 2000, Feige has been involved in all of the company’s theatrical film productions, serving as exec producer on the second and third “Spider-Man” films and “X-Men 3: The Last Stand.”
Future projects under Feige’s oversight include “Iron Man 3” (May), “Thor: The Dark World” (November 2013), “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” (April 2014), “Guardians of the Galaxy” (August 2013), the sequel to “The Avengers” (May 2015) and “Ant-Man” (November 2015).
