Marshall-Green joins ‘Hunter’

Actor will play Tennessee Williams in screen bio

Logan Marshall-Green has been tapped to play Tennessee Williams in director Deborah Kampmeier’s upcoming Carson McCullers biopic, “Lonely Hunter.”

Jena Malone is already onboard to play McCullers, the influential novelist (“The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter,” “The Member of the Wedding”) who was close friends with playwright Williams. Those portraying two other famous figures in McCullers’ circle, Truman Capote and Gypsy Rose Lee, remain to be cast.

Marshall-Green has a role in Ridley Scott’s upcoming “Prometheus” and is currently filming indie “Black Dog, Red Dog.”

Helmer Kampmeier (“Hounddog”) co-wrote the script for “Lonely Hunter” with Sarah Schulman. Full Moon Films’ Troy Johanson and Blair Breard produce, with Fork Films’ Abigail Disney attached as exec producer.

“Lonely Hunter” aims to begin shooting later this year.
