Mark Padilla has joined Myriad Pictures as VP of sales and distribution and will attend the Cannes Market as part of the Myriad team.
Padilla, previously VP of sales and distribution for Essential Entertainment, will be responsible for sales and distribution for theatrical and TV properties along with being involved in the acquisition of new titles. He will report to Lisa Gutberlet, the newly promoted senior VP of distribution, Lisa Gutberlet.
Padilla was manager of international marketing operations at Arclight and joined Essential in 2007. While at Essential, he worked on “Barney’s Version,” “Defiance” and “Red Dog.”
Myriad’s slate at Cannes includes “Inescapable,” starring Marisa Tomei, Josh Jackson and Alexander Siddig; “A Common Man,” starring Ben Kingsley and Ben Cross
; “Breaking the Girls” with Madeline Zima, Agnes Bruckner and Shawn Ashmore; “The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: His Story and Her Story,” with Jessica Chastain and Joel Edgerton; “Freeloaders” with the Broken Lizard troupe; “Knife Fight,” starring Rob Lowe, Julie Bowen and Jamie Chung; “Nobody Walks,” a Sundance Jury Award winner starring John Krasinski, Olivia Thirlby and Rosemarie DeWitt; and Neil LaBute’s “Seconds of Pleasure.”
