“My Week With Marilyn” helmer Simon Curtis has closed a deal to direct “Click to Connect,” a romantic anthology set in the online dating world that is set up at Fox 2000.
Liz Tuccillo wrote the script, while Denise Di Novi and Alison Greenspan will produce through DiNovi Pictures.
Pic will follow a collection of characters, ranging in age from their 20s to 60s, whose approach to online dating varies according to their circumstances and past experiences.
The producers and Tuccillo sold “Click to Connect” as a pitch in the room to Fox 2000 topper Elizabeth Gabler.
Curtis signed on to the project with the goal of showcasing his range as a filmmaker. The veteran helmer produced and directed numerous TV movies and exec produced a half-dozen films before making his feature directorial debut with the Golden Globe-nominated “My Week With Marilyn,” which he also exec produced.
Tuccillo teamed with Greg Behrendt to write the bestselling book “He’s Just Not That Into You,” which New Line brought to the bigscreen in 2009. She also wrote the novel “How to Be Single,” which Drew Barrymore is developing to direct and produce through her Flower Films banner.
DiNovi Pictures recently produced the Nicholas Sparks adaptation “The Lucky One,” which Warner Bros. opens April 20. Company is also developing WB’s “Nathan Decker” as a starring vehicle for Ben Affleck, as well as Guillermo del Toro’s “Beauty.”
