Paladin to release Morgan Spurlock film in May
“Mansome,” the Morgan Spurlock documentary bowing later this month at the Tribeca Film Festival, will get a limited theatrical release from Paladin starting in May.
Spurlock (“Supersize Me,” “The Greatest Movie Ever Sold”) writes, directs and produces the doc about contemporary male grooming. Will Arnett and Jason Bateman exec produce under the banner of their digital content and production company DumbDumb, along with Ben Silverman of Electus.
Arnett and Bateman also appear with Spurlock in the doc, which includes commentary and interviews from Paul Rudd, Zach Galifianakis, Adam Carolla, Judd Apatow and John Waters as well as sociologists, fashion editors, facial hair connoisseurs and grizzled members of rock bands ZZ Top and Anthrax.
“Mansome” is created and exec produced by Spurlock and Jeremy Chilnick’s Warrior-Poets, Electus and DumbDumb. Film premieres April 21 at Tribeca.
Paladin’s theatrical release of the film will play major cities including Gotham and L.A. starting May 18. Pic joins a Paladin slate that also includes “Otter 501” and the current release of Susan Seidelman’s “Musical Chairs.”
