Magnolia Pictures has acquired U.S. rights to “A Place at the Table,” a documentary from Participant Media and co-directors Kristi Jacobson and Lori Silverbush about the hunger crisis in America.

Pic features Jeff Bridges and Tom Colicchio, with music by T Bone Burnett and The Civil Wars.

Film debuted at this year’s Sundance Film Festival with the title “Finding North.”

It was produced by Jacobson and Silverbush, along with Julie Goldman and Ryan Harrington. Jeff Skoll, Diane Weyermann, Christina Weiss Lurie, Jeffrey Lurie and Colicchio exec produced.

Magnolia and Participant previously collaborated on “Food, Inc.”

“A Place at the Table” centers on the 30% of American families-more than 49 million people-that don’t know where their next meal is coming from.

Pic will be released theatrically in the first quarter.

The deal was done by Magnolia’s Dori Begley with Josh Braun of Submarine.
