Luke Evans in talks for ‘Fast & Furious 6’

Thesp will segue to U actioner from 'The Hobbit'

Universal has set one of the final pieces of “Fast and Furious 6,” as Luke Evans is in negotiations to star as the villain opposite Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson.

Sources tell Variety that Evans has worked out scheduling issues with his work on “The Hobbit” and will transition immediately from the Peter Jackson pic.

Justin Lin will direct, with Chris Morgan penning the script. Plot details are scant, but sources say it would involve the crew heading overseas to work on a heist job. Evans would play the leader of another crew trying to pull off the same job.

Neal Moritz will produce along with Diesel and Clayton Townsend through Moritz’s Original Film banner.

Evans can be seen currently in Relativity’s “The Raven.” He was also in the running for Warner Bros.’ “Winter’s Tale” before Colin Farrell got the offer.

He is repped by WME and United Agents.
