Continental Media sells U.K., Japan rights to Bigfoot film
Bigfoot is headed for international territories — at least on “The Lost Coast Tapes,” a found-footage p.o.v. project that’s completed its first foreign sales via newly minted Continental Media.
Story’s set in 2011 with found footage of a group of investigative journalists who disappear after traveling to a site in Northern California to verify the discovery of a dead Sasquatch.
Project was introduced last fall during the American Film Market. Continental’s closed a multiterritory deal with G2 Pictures to release “Lost Coast” in the U.K./Ireland, Benelux and Scandinavia and has sold rights in Japan to New Select.
“The Lost Coast Tapes” stars Drew Rausch (“Battleship”), Rich McDonald (“Generation Kill”), Noah Weisberg, Frank Ashmore and model Ashley Wood. The feature is produced by Chevez Frazier of New Breed Entertainment and Chris Beal. Corey Grant directed from a script by Brian Kelsey and Bryan O’Cain.
Continental’s screening the pic in April for domestic buyers.
