Unidentified crewmember drowns on set of Disney tentpole
A crewmember on Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer’s “The Lone Ranger” died Friday on set while prepping an underwater sequence.
The unidentified individual went into cardiac arrest after drowing on set, sources confirm, and was flown to an area hospital where he was proncounced dead upon arrival.
Production was lensing in a tank just outside Los Angeles.
“We regretfully confirm that a Lone Ranger crew member has passed away after being taken to a local hospital,” Disney said in a statement. “Our hearts and thoughts are with his family, friends, and colleagues at this time, and our full support is behind the investigation into the circumstances of this terrible event.”
