ROME — The Locarno Film Festival will offer a taste of Chile at its third Carte Blanche showcase for pics in post seeking completion financing.
The Swiss fest’s event will screen five or six Chilean films for prospective international buyers and fest programmers.
Showcase is organized by Locarno’s Industry Office in partnership with CinemaChile and the Australab mart in Valdivia, Chile.
Producers of selected works will travel to Locarno to tubthump their projects. Winning pic will get 10,000 Swiss Francs ($11,000).
Past countries featured by Carte Blanche are Colombia and Mexico.
Locarno will run Aug. 7-17. Chilean films will be announced in July.
