Lionsgate sets ‘Snitch’ release

Dwayne Johnson action-thriller to bow Feb. 22

Liongate will open Ric Roman Waugh’s action-thriller “Snitch” on Feb. 22, replacing Stuart Beattie’s “I, Frankenstein” as the only film in the slot.

“Frankenstein” has been pushed back seven months to Sept. 13, when it will open against Sony’s “Battle of the Year” and Disney’s 3D version of “The Little Mermaid.”s

Dwayne Johnson toplines “Snitch” with Exclusive Media Group, David Fanning and Gordon Gray producing. Johnson will play the part of a working class hero who risks everything to save his son, who is falsely imprisoned.

Aaron Eckhart is in the lead role in ”I, Frankenstein” for Lakeshore Entertainment, Hopscotch Features and Lionsgate.
