LONDONLionsgate has extended its output pacts with international distribs to 10, having signed a deal with Belga Films to handle Lionsgate films in Benelux. The news comes hot on the heels of Wednesday’s announcement that the company had signed an output deal with Gaul’s Metropolitan Filmexport. The pact will see Belga distrib all films from the Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment labels in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Lionsgate acquired Summit in January. “We are pleased to expand Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment’s longstanding relationship with Belga Films into an output agreement,” said Lionsgate Motion Picture Group co-chairs Patrick Wachsberger and Rob Friedman. “From Summit’s ‘The Twilight Saga’ to Lionsgate’s ‘The Hunger Games,’ we have partnered successfully with Belga on our big franchise films in the past, and this new agreement is a natural evolution of our productive relationship.” The new distrib deal, announced by the two companies Thursday, is the latest in a series of similar pacts Lionsgate has agreed including with Metropolitan in France, Studiocanal in Germany, Alliance’s Aurum Producciones in Spain, Nordisk Films in Scandinavia and Roadshow Pictures in Australia.
