With three children of his own, Kirk Jones said there was just one pregnancy factoid he wasn’t aware of prior to filming Lionsgate’s “What to Expect When You’re Expecting,” based on Heidi Murkoff’s bestselling manual.
As the helmer told it on the red carpet at AMC Loews Lincoln Square, “During a scene with a very pregnant Elizabeth Banks and (onscreen hubby) Ben Falcone, who are trying to get her delivery started, Chris Rock yelled, ‘Tweak her nipples!’ I just looked at him and he said, ‘Don’t look at me. I spoke to Heidi, and she said it’s one of the things that can start labor.’ I had absolutely no idea.”
For co-star Chace Crawford, who had not yet seen the finished film and has no children of his own, everything was a surprise. “I guess the message is — use contraception,” said the thesp.
Rock and Cameron Diaz skipped the screening and Oak Room after-party, but castmates Banks, Crawford, Brooklyn Decker and Rodrigo Santoro stuck around for some unexpected martinis. Obviously, no one drinking was expecting. –
