Jury set for Shooting Stars event

Talent showcase to honor young thesps in Berlin


European Film Promotion has announced the international jury for its Shooting Stars talent showcase, which takes place Feb. 9-11 as part of the Berlin Film Festival.

The jury includes Italian actress and former Shooting Star Alba Rohrwacher (“Dormant Beauty”), Bosnian director Jasmila Zbanic (“Grbavica”), German producer Bettina Brokemper (“Nymphomaniac”), U.K. casting director Jina Jay and French film journalist Thierry Cheze.

The jury selects Europe’s 10 best emerging thesps, who will be announced in early December. The candidates are nominated by EFP member orgs.

During the Berlinale, EFP spotlights the young stars, offering a networking platform to support their international careers and showcasing the latest in European cinema. The Berlinale will also honor the actors with the Shooting Stars Award.

Shooting Stars is supported by the European Union’s Media Program and participating EFP members.
