Jude Law joins Werner Herzog’s ‘Desert’

Naomi Watts, Robert Pattinson star in indie drama

Jude Law has joined Naomi Watts and Robert Pattinson in Werner Herzog’s indie drama “Queen of the Desert.”

Nick Raslan will produce the movie through his Palmyra Films along with Cassian Elwes and Michael Benaroya. Benaroya’s Benaroya Pictures will finance.

Sierra/Affinity is handling international sales at AFM.

Watts toplines as Gertrude Bell. She was an explorer, writer and archeologist who is credited with helping to catalyze the formation of the Middle East at the dawn of the 20th century.

Herzog is set to start shooting from his own script in Morocco in March.

Law has most recently been seen in “Hugo,” the “Sherlock Holmes” films, “360” and “Contagion.”

He is represented by Julian Belfrage Associates and WME.
