Warner Bros. is planning to hire News Corp. communications exec Jack Horner for a senior publicity slot in its motion picture group.
A studio rep had no comment Sunday but a source with knowledge of the situation said that Horner is expected to come on board next month.
The New York-based Horner has been serving as a public spokesman for Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. as its VP of corporate affairs and communications.
Horner is expected to work on public relations strategy with film studio head Jeff Robinov and marketing chief Sue Kroll.
Key upcoming titles include Ben Affleck’s “Argo,” Clint Eastwood’s “Trouble with the Curve,” Peter Jackson’s “two “Hobbit” films, Ruben Fleischer’s “Gangster Squad,” Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel,” Bryan Singer’s “Jack the Giant Killer,” Guillermo Del Toro’s “Pacific Rim” and Baz Luhrmann’s “The Great Gatsby.”
