Irons fortifies ‘Beautiful Creatures’

Thesp joins young-adult novel adaptation

Jeremy Irons is in final negotiations to join the cast of Alcon’s “Beautiful Creatures” taking the role of a mysterious and reclusive uncle in the supernatural love story.

Jack O’Connell and Alice Englert play the lead roles along with Viola Davis, Emma Thompson, Emmy Rossum and Thomas Mann.

Erwin Stoff will produce along with Alcon co-toppers Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson. Richard LaGravenese is directing from his adaptation of the novel of the same name – the first of a series written by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. Warner-based Alcon’s acquired rights to the series.

“Beautiful Creatures” begins shooting next month in and around New Orleans.

Irons is in Showtime drama “The Borgias” amd will be seen in the CBS Films drama “The Words.” He is repped by CAA and Ken McReddie Associates.
