Indie ‘2 Dead’ starts filming

Mob tale aims for screens next year

Indie “2 Dead 2 Kill” kicks off filming in L.A. this week ahead of a planned bow on the festival circuit sometime next year.

Michael Lerner (“Barton Fink”), Costas Mandylor (“Picket Fences,” the “Saw” franchise) and Roberto Costanzo appear in the noir actioner about a guy, played by newcomer Al Tagliaferri, looking for $8 million in stolen heroin while on the run from rival mob bosses. Michael J. Hach writes and directs.

Matthew Helderman and Luke Taylor, both of Beverly Hills-based Buffalo 8 Prods., produce.

Producers hope to have a final cut of the film ready by December ahead of a proposed 2013 debut at a festival to be determined.
